Andrew Symonds is the latest in a star line-up for Sydney's Triple M Legends of Origin Match which sold out over 20,000 tickets to Parramatta Stadium in just two days to raise money for the Premier's Flood Relief fund. Symonds will saddle up for the QLD side which is being coached by Wally Lewis, with Gus Gould to take the helm for NSW and round up the likes of Brad Fittler, Ricky Stewart and Ben Elias (full teams confirmed below). Bill Harrigan is set to take to the ground as referee.
The match takes place this Thursday 27 January with kick off at 7.30pm.
Prior to the game there will be a Legends autograph tent for those not quite up to taking to the field including Steve Roach, Don McKinnon and Peter Wynn.
It's an all star line-up with HG Nelson (Greig Pickhaver), Joey Johns, Greg Martin and Dan Ginnane calling the game on Triple M - live in Sydney and Brisbane plus simulcast on Barry.com.au.
Shannon Noll will sing the national anthem and Gyroscope & Doc Neeson from The Angels are locked in to rock Parramatta stadium in a what is sure to be a thrilling evening for Sydneysiders.
Triple M Grill Team's Mark Geyer came up with the idea for the Triple M Legends of Origin Match idea last week and in a tribute to the Aussie spirit Sydney is just days away from a sensational spectacle in sport.
