The Australian Rugby League will crack down on foul play following a wild brawl in last week's curtain-raiser to the second State of Origin clash in Sydney.
The ARL said it will officially warn coaches and players from the New South Wales and Queensland Residents teams that unsavoury incidents won't be tolerated. Those sides will contest the curtain raiser for Origin III in Brisbane on July 16.
Players from both the NSW and Queensland Under 17 sides were involved in an ugly brawl during last Wednesday's curtain-raiser at Telstra Stadium, won 18-16 by the Blues.
The ARL took the unprecedented step of writing to every team member to express its disappointment in their actions, despite video footage showing no single player could be blamed for starting the fight.
