Bailey stays at Newcastle

Knights Utility, Chris Bailey, has agreed to terms for a further two years, re-signing with Newcastle until at least the end of the 2008 season.

An Inverell Hawks junior, Bailey was a member of Northern Blues 2005 Premiership winning side in the Newcastle Rugby League competition, before joining the Knights in the pre-season.

The 24-year-old made his First Grade debut against the Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Stadium in Round 10, backing up against the Raiders to score his inaugural NRL try.

?It?s great to have the distractions out of the way and to be able to concentrate on my playing future,? Bailey said.

?It was a big decision to make but I believe I?ve taken the right option.?

Bailey?s representative honours include Newcastle, New South Wales Country and back to back selections for the New South Wales Residents in 2005 & 2006.

Chris is also the brother of former Kangaroos and New South Wales Origin back rower, Phil Bailey.
