Dragons captain Trent Barrett, who missed this afternoon's Telstra Premiership match with the Bulldogs at WIN Stadium, will have x-rays tomorrow and will consult an ankle surgeon over the next two days to determine if he needs surgery.
Dragons team doctor Martin Raftery reviewed Barrett's injured right ankle this afternoon and said the worst case scenario was that he may need an arthroscope, which would sideline him for 4-6 weeks.
“We won't know the best case scenario until we have done further investigation over the next few days,” Dr Raftery said. “Until then Trent will ice and rest his ankle. It's not in the same area where he broke it, but a little lower down.”
Dr Raftery said Barrett felt pain in his ankle during the week after a heavy training session with the Country Origin side and limped off the field before half-time in last night's City/Country.clash
