Battle for 3rd place set to go to
the wire

With the Bridgend Blue Bulls and Aberavon Fighting Irish having secured first and second place respectively all eyes will be on who can claim that all important third spot and a play-off with Aberavon for the right to face Bridgend in the Welsh Final.

Newport Titans and Valley Cougars are both on 10 points while Torfaen Tigers are just behind with nine meaning all three have a chance to sneak into third.

The Cougars face a difficult trip to Little Warren, home of Aberavon, both sides have been in good form lately and had big wins last weekend. Cougars coach Mark Rowley said ?we beat the Fighting Irish once last season and it would be great to do it again, it will be a massive test for us but if we show the same skill and passion as we showed v the Demons last week anything is possible?

Torfaen host unbeaten Bridgend and will need to win to stay in touch, both sides welcome back their Wales stars who won in Ireland last weekend with try scorers Neil Dixon (Blue Bulls) and Damien Smith (Tigers) set to face each other.

Bulls captain Kevin Ellis said ?it?s a must win game for them so we must be switched on, they are a very physical side and I am expecting a tough match?

If both the Cougars and Tigers loose Newport could take the ascendancy but only if they can beat Cardiff Demons at Taffs Well. The Demons have had a disappointing season but welcome back a number of players who have been in Australia representing Wales in the Student World Cup.

Whatever happens this weekend things look likely to go down to the final weekend (July 30th) when the Cougars and Tigers face each other and Newport host Aberavon.
