Bridgend?s
Morgan the only new cap in Welsh squad.

Wales have named a 20-man squad for their crucial European Nations Cup tie against Ireland on Saturday (kick-off 3pm), 16 of whom lined up in Wales? 22-14 win over Scotland two weeks ago.

Valley Cougars? Jon Breakingbury has been left out of the squad for Dublin. Instead, coach Martin Hall has drafted in Bridgend Blue Bulls? Lenny Woodard and Paul Morgan.

Morgan, who was man-of-the-match in Bridgend?s Welsh Grand Final win in August, is the only un-capped player in the squad.

Halifax?s Chris Morley and Rochdale?s Gareth Price, who were both left out of the side in Bridgend, will also make the trip to the Emerald Isle.

Martin Hall is pleased with how the squad has been training since the Scotland match commenting: ?We played very well against Scotland, especially as it was our first game together. I?ve watched the video now and seen that the win was more convincing than scoreline suggested. We?ve got a few more training sessions before Saturday and I know we?ll be ready to take on the Irish.?

Wales are currently top of Group A and go to Dublin needing a win or a draw to put them into the Final in Carcassonne on Saturday 5 November. Ireland beat Scotland 12-6 on Sunday so trail Wales in the table on points difference.

Wales: Damien Gibson (Halifax), Bryn Powell (Featherstone Rovers), Adam Hughes (Widnes Vikings), Aled James (Sheffield Eagles), Richard Johnson (Aberavon Fighting Irish), Lee Briers (Warrington Wolves, Captain), Mark Lennon (Manly Sea Eagles), David Mills (London Broncos), Ian Watson (Swinton Lions), Gareth Dean (Carcassonne), Anthony Blackwood (Halifax), Jordan James (Castleford Tigers), Phil Joseph (Swinton Lions), Karl Hocking (Bridgend Blue Bulls), Byron Smith (Castleford Tigers), Neil Davies (Aberavon Fighting Irish), Chris Morley (Halifax), Gareth Price (Rochdale Hornets), Lenny Woodard (Bridgend Blue Bulls), Paul Morgan (Bridgend Blue Bulls).
