Broncos battle string of injuries

The Brisbane Broncos are battling a string of forward injuries three days out from their Good Friday clash with the Sydney Roosters.

Prop Joel Clinton and second rower Corey Parker are both facing up to a month on the sidelines with knee injuries while starting prop Ben Hannant was booked to see a specialist on Tuesday for an Achilles injury.

The three players were injured during Brisbane's impressive 48-12 NRL season opener against Penrith on Sunday.

Adding further to Brisbane's woes is a niggling quad strain which will prevent hooker Michael Ennis from returning for at least another week.

The injuries are likely to see lanky prop Nick Kenny and boom teenage forward David Taylor included in coach Wayne Bennett's squad to be named later Tuesday.

With both Parker and Ennis unavailable Bennett will have to find a new goal kicker for Friday night's clash.

That job is likely to go to new half-back Peter Wallace who stayed back after training Tuesday morning to practice his goal kicking.

The Roosters were impressive in the forwards in winning their opening NRL match of the season against South Sydney and Brisbane will have to take them on without at least one of their first game starting props (Clinton) and their goal kicking back-rower Parker who kicked 10 from 10 last week.
