Broncos name team to face Dragons

Blockbusting young forward Carl Webb has been retained for this Friday night?s huge clash with the in-form St GeorgeIllawarra Dragons at Win Stadium. Webb has spent much of the season in the QRL with the Toowoomba Clydesdales after falling out of favour with coach Wayne Bennett at the end of 2003.

However, a rampaging return to the top grade against Souths last weekend was enough evidence for Bennett to keep the former Origin star.

Skipper Gorden Tallis will continue his return from a neck injury after also impressing in Sunday?s 48-28 win over the Rabbitohs.

He believes Webb could play a big role in Brisbane?s chances for a premiership in 2004.

?He is a guy everyone likes to play beside when he is playing well because he is so powerful and destructive,? Tallis said. ?With a lot of blokes likely to be a bit tired after Origin it is great to have a bloke of his quality to come into the side.?

Lock Tonie Carroll is still sidelined due to suspension, with impressive youngster Neville Costigan to again start at the back of the pack.

Lanky winger Scott Minto has been replaced by veteran flyer Stu Kelly, while all six Origin representatives have been named to play assuming they make it through Wednesday?s decider unscathed.
