Bulls Eye

In Bulls Eye this week, Brian Noble and Jamie Peacock look ahead to Friday's Round 23 Tetley's Super League game when Wigan Warriors hit town in one of the games of the season1

BRIAN NOBLE

WIGAN HAVE BEEN PLAYING VERY WELL LATELY.

They have and they will be confident about coming here. They got one over on us at the JJB last month, in a game I thought we should have won after we dominated for long periods, so they will feel they have the measure of us. They, just like us, have suffered from adversity with injuries but they have put that behind them and are playing it their strengths. Andy Farrell has been immense for them this season, proving just what a quality individual he is. He has offered them great leadership when things haven?t gone well for them and he is great form himself. Terry Newton has had a great season. He gives them great attacking options round the ruck and he is very dangerous close to the line. Their young players, like Wild, O?Loughlin and Aspinwall have all grown in stature and Robinson has been superb for them since he came back from his loan spell at Castleford. They are a very dangerous team with strength all over the park and pace out wide with Carney, Hodgson and Dallas and they are a real threat to us this week but we are going into the game with a lot of confidence.

AT LAST YOU CAN SEE SOME LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL AS FAR AS THE INJURY SITUATION IS CONCERNED

I have a team selection headache this week!! We have Mick Withers and Paul Johnson available for selection so it gives me some options is some areas. I have not been able to choose the same team twice this season and we have never been at full strength at all this year but we just have to get on with it. Having the two players back is good for us and it puts pressure on the other players in the squad, which is good. I have been happy with the way we have been going, apart from our completion rate at Hull and thought we did some smart things against Warrington last week. We need to play well from now and we must do it this week.

JAMIE PEACOCK

IT?S A VERY IMPORTANT GAME FOR US THIS WEEK

It will be a very tough game for us, especially with them beating us at the JJB last month. That game was a bit of an arm wrestle but they managed to pull away at the end and we don?t want to let that happen again. Wigan are on the same points as us so this game is definitely a ?four pointer?. We really need to play well and if we do than I think we can win.

I think we have been playing pretty well overall for the last six weeks or so. Every game we have played we could and probably should, have won. We have worked very hard in training and sometimes those things don?t come off immediately, they can take a few weeks and we are set to reap the rewards. The hard work and training we have done will pay dividends in the next few weeks.

We are settling in with Iestyn in the side now. He takes a bit of pressure off of me. There are not too many defenders watching for me on the right hand side because they have to keep an on Iestyn now. That?s good for me and you can tell what a class player he is. He has only been in the side for the last four or five games and already he is setting tries up and making important breaks. He has a good kicking game as well, so what more do you want!

We have trained well and we are looking forward to playing Wigan and are going into the game with confidence.
