Carney ruled
out for up to six weeks

Wigan Coach Denis Betts today confirmed that Great Britain Winger Brian Carney will be sidelined for upto six weeks with a knee injury which he picked up in the final minute in the game against Leigh last Friday.

Speaking at today's press conference ahead of Friday's game against St Helens at the JJB Stadium (12.30pm kick off), Betts said,

"Brian will not play for six weeks, he has grade two medial ligament damage. Our luck just seems to worsen week in week out ,but it is just one of those things. He must have done something wrong in a previous life, but that is the nature of the game, it's just the way we are going at the moment."
