South Sydney utility Beau Champion will escape suspension despite being charge with a careless high tackle on St George Illawarra fullback Clint Greenshields in their Charity Shield clash last Saturday night.

Champion, who hit Greenshields in the 65th minute of the match, was charged with a grade one offence, but will escape suspension regardless of his plea due to his good record.

Meanwhile, Manly's Travis Burns faces a one-match ban for a grade one dangerous throw during the Sea Eagles' trial loss to the Sydney Roosters.
