Chev Walker Returns to Help Rhinos get
Home

Danny McGuire scored two tries as Leeds saw off Castleford in their Boxing Day clash.

Mark Calderwood and Rob Burrow also scored as Leeds turned on the sparkle at Headingley.

Chev Walker and Ryan Bailey made key contributions as they returned after jail sentences.

The Rhinos pair were given a rapturous reception from a bumper 13,154 crowd. They missed the end of last season after being jailed for violent conduct.

Walker was a constant threat to Castleford and set up the game's second try for winger Calderwood.

Leeds coasted into a 10-0 lead inside 18 minutes with tries from McGuire and Calderwood.

But Castleford were inspired by acting captain Ryan Sheridan who struck up a fine partnership with livewire hooker Wayne Godwin.

Godwin forced his way over from acting half-back on 22 minutes to bring his side back into the game and grabbed a second after 65 minutes to keep the outcome in the balance.

But McGuire brought the crowd to its feet with a dazzling solo try, converted for a second time by Burrow.

Burrow then clinched victory for the home side when he gained a lucky bounce to score the Rhinos' fourth try 12 minutes from time.
