Chris Walker arrested and dropped
from Origin Squad

Sydney Roosters and Queensland rep Chris Walker has reverted back to his old habits, after being arrested overnight, following an incident involving police in Brisbane.

Almost immediately, Queensland Rugby League general manager Ross Livermore has removed Walker from the selection table for the opening Origin match, basing his decision upon Walker breaking curfew.

"The police are investigating it and they have charged Chris Walker and he is no longer a member of the Queensland squad," Livermore said. "We can't condone that kind of behaviour and he won't be considered for the first Origin game."

Police have charged the unpredictable centre/winger with assaulting police, obstructing police and being a public nuisance. Capsicum spray was reportedly used during the arrest which took place this morning at around 4.15am in Fortitude Valley, towards the north of Brisbane.

Walker was bailed to appear before the Brisbane Magistrate's Court on May 18.
