Cowboys-Broncos Mt Isa trial sold out

The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys' NRL pre-season trial against the Brisbane Broncos in Mt Isa is already a sellout 19 days before the 9 February clash.

The capacity at the match venue, Alec Inch Oval, was capped by authorities at 4000 and all of the available tickets have been snapped up by eager North-West rugby league fans in just a few weeks.

A fundraising sportsman's night for the Mt Isa Rugby League to be held on the Friday night is also sold out.

"It's been a tremendous response from the league fans in Mt Isa. We knew the game would be popular, but probably didn't expect the tickets would go so quickly," Cowboys general manager - football Peter Parr said.

"It looks like it's going to be a memorable time for everyone out there, including for our players and staff who will be making the trip.

"We're looking forward to meeting as many Cowboys members and supporters as we can while we are there."

As part of the Cowboys' commitment to the game, the club's development team will be in the North-West region from Tuesday, 5 February to promote rugby league while four NRL squad members will take part in community and school visits from the Thursday as part of the NRL's Community Carnival.

The Cowboys' squad will arrive on Friday morning and hold an open training session at Alec Inch Oval later in the afternoon.

North Queensland will also play pre-season trials against St George Illawarra at Barlow Park in Cairns on Saturday night, 16 February and against the Gold Coast Titans on Saturday night, 23 February at Virgin Australia Stadium in Mackay.

Tickets for both of those matches are still available.
