Cowboys patient with Thurston

Queensland and Toyota Cowboys half Johnathan Thurston will be given as long as possible to prove his fitness for this weekend's game against the Bulldogs.

Thurston who played a pivotal role in Queensland's victory over the Blues on Wednesday night suffered a severe cork to his knee and Cowboys medical staff are working overtime to get the play maker on the park this Sunday. His role is seen as a vital one if the northern club are to turn around their recent form on the field. Thurston was expected to take part in the final training session this morning before the team travels to the Gold Coast for the Sunday game.

Carl Webb and Jacob Lillyman who played for Queensland on Wednesday night have both been passed fit and will take their place in the Toyota Cowboys line up.
