Cowboys rope in Tigers

North Queensland have recorded their biggest victory of the year with an impressive 40-16 disposal of the Wests Tigers in Townsville this evening.

Since Graham Murray took over the hapless Cowboys they have slowly started to turn their fortunes around and came terribly close last week agains the Eels, going down by a point after the siren had sounded. They took a lot out of that match, regained their composure and came up with a morale boosting victory to move away from the bottom of the tabnle to record their third victory of the year and their second in three matches. Teh Cowboys look leaner, tougher and hungrier than any Cowboys side in years gone by. Hopefully, the fans will start flocking back to watch their team run around as they look to build on an impressive month and give some of the big guns a run for their money.

The Tigers were in the match up until the last fifteen minutes with John Wilson having a fine game at lock and scoring a great try to get the Tigers within ten points with just over ten minutes to play. However, it wasn't to be with some players backing up after last nights City/ Country match. The ZTigers have now lost two on the trot and will have to regroup quickly if they are to maintain their place in the top eight.
