Dragons chase second Premier League Trophy in 4 years

The Dragons will be chasing their second Premier League premiership in four years when they face the Roosters in this Sunday?s grand final with a starting line-up including 10 players with 2004 NRL experience.

Dragons coach Mick Potter, who took the side to third last season and second in 2002, steered the team to the minor premiership this year and is determined to finish the job at Telstra Stadium this Sunday (3.50pm kick-off), adding to the trophy they won in 2001.

The Dragons and Roosters met in rounds seven and 19 this season, with the Dragons winning the first encounter 40-22, and the Roosters the second 31-12. They finished equal first at the end of the regular season with 43 points (19 wins, 4 losses, one draw), eight points clear of third place, but the Dragons had the better percentage.

The Dragons have made only one change to the side named last week, with Brett Firman ruled out with an ankle injury and Lachlan Russell replacing him as the starting halfback. Winger Nick Youngquest, who was ruled out late last week with an ankle injury, has been named subject to a fitness test.
