Dragons sign Reynoldson; pull out of race for Mason

St George Illawarra have pulled out of the race to sign disgruntled Bulldogs prop Willie Mason after today agreeing to terms with former Newcastle backrower Kirk Reynoldson for the 2008 season.

The deal ends three months of uncertainty for Reynoldson, who was unwanted by the Knights after falling out of favour with coach Brian Smith. The Dragons say they have withdrawn from negotiations with Mason because the parties couldn't agree on "commercial terms going forward."

English Super League club Wigan says it is also not in the running for the Test prop's signature, leaving clubs Cronulla and Sydney Roosters as the only clubs left in the race.
