Eels extend coaching contracts

The Dyldam Parramatta Eels have today announced the contracts of Head Coach Brad Arthur, and his two assistant coaches, Steve Murphy and Peter Gentle, have been extended until at least the end of 2017.

The move will guarantee stability in the coaching ranks of the club for the next three seasons, a decision made to ensure the club's future plans can be executed.

"We want to give both our playing group, staff and the clubs Members every confidence in our coaching team being with the Eels for a long time to come," Chairman Steve Sharp said.

"Brad has brought real change since starting at the helm of our NRL side, and instilled a new sense of confidence in both our young and experienced players - and we know he has a successful future here at the Eels."

Arthur says the decision to keep entire coaching staff in Blue and Gold for a number of seasons is a great show of faith in their plans for the future.

"Parramatta is a fantastic club and I am privileged to be given the opportunity to be Head Coach for a few seasons to come," Arthur said.

"While we saw a lot of improvement this year, I want our side to be a top-eight force to be reckoned with every season, and coming close like we did this year isn't going to be good enough anymore."

With last week's official appointment of Paul Devlin as the club's Physical Performance Manager, the Eels' NRL coaching department is finalised for the 2015 season, with pre-season training underway.
