Eels ink Morris for three

Parramatta have signed Newcastle utility, John Morris, to a three year deal that will see him at the club until the end of the 2005 season.

Morris is a versatile player, having played at lock, halfback, wing and hooker with the latter expected to be his position with the Blue and Gold's next year with the likely departure of Brad Drew to the Raiders.

Morris has been the only signing by the Eels so far as the salary cap starts to bite with the retention of most of their high profile players. So far Ian Hindmarsh has signed with the Raiders and Andrew Ryan is yet to come to terms with the club and the Warriors are vry interested in obtaining his services.
