Eels playing their part in helping "Close the Gap"

The Pirtek Parramatta Eels in conjunction with Rugby League's One Community and the New South Wales Rugby League Integral Energy Western Sydney Academy have joined forces to help with the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation's Share-A-Book program.

At this Sunday's blockbuster western derby between the Eels and the Wests Tigers at Parramatta Stadium, members of the western Sydney rugby league community are asked to bring a pre-loved children's book which will go to marginalised communities.

Many remote communities across the country lack basic literacy resources and the Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation's Share- A-Book provides pre-loved reading material to communities that do not have resources to further develop their children's reading skills. Some of the families in the communities within which Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation's works have not had a single book in their homes before having access to SAB (Share-A-Book).

Parramatta Eels CEO, Paul Osborne is asking everyone who attends the match to help this wonderful cause.
