Eels sign four players

Parramatta looks to have solved its halfback dilemma, for the next four National Rugby League seasons at least, with the signing of youngster Michael Witt to a new long-term deal.

Witt has been a revelation for the Eels since taking over the number seven jersey in round eight following a serious facial injury to veteran Paul Green. He's shown enough in the six weeks since to secure a new four year deal which will see him remain with the Eels until the end of 2007.

The Eels have ensured he'll be surrounded by some quality by signing former Queensland utility Daniel Wagon, winger Matt Petersen and young forward Chris Armit to new two year deals.
