Wigan Warriors withstood a Leeds Rhinos second-half comeback to take the points at the JJB Stadium.

The Warriors dominated the first half and had a dream start when Cameron Philips scored two tires in the opening 10 minutes of the game. Liam Colbon added a third and what turned out to be crucial, Pat Richards kicked a drop goal just before the breaks as the hosts led 17-0.

Danny McGuire got Leeds on the scoreboard only for Darrell Goulding to put Wigan into a 23-6 lead after 59 minutes. However the Rhinos hit back and with tries from Ryan Hall, Keith Senior and Gareth Ellis they got to within in one point of the home-side.

There was late drama in the closing seconds of the game as Leeds were awarded a penalty 40 meters out. Rob Burrow missed the kick and Wigan took the game which for the first time this season dropped the Rhinos to second spot in the table.
