Macgillivray set for Wildcats start

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have a ready-made replacement for Julian O?Neill in fellow Australian Duncan Macgillivray, who plays his first match of the season against Warrington Wolves at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Macgillivray, who joined the Wildcats from French club Carcassonne last season, was forced to undergo a shoulder re-construction after being injured in the club?s Boxing Day friendly at Leeds and coach Shane McNally is delighted to see him return.

?Duncs is a quality player,? he said. ?He is one of those whose work on the field is not always recognised but the rest of the players appreciate what he does.

?There is a bit of a buzz in the camp that Duncs is back playing.?

Wakefield have won just one of their last six matches to hover dangerously close to the relegation zone and they lost at home to Warrington last month.

The Wolves, conversely, have won six of their last seven matches to climb five places in the table and they should consolidate their top-six spot.

Warrington 18-man squad: Grose, Faa'fili, M. Gleeson, Kohe-Love, Briers, N. Wood, Leikvoll, Clarke, Hilton, Swann, Wainwright, Noone, M. Gleeson, Westwood, P. Wood, Lima, Appo, Bridge.

Wakefield 18-man squad: Halpenny, Demetriou, Domic, Tadulala, Rooney, Jeffries, Griffin, March, Korkidas, J. Field, Spicer, Obst , Snitch, MacGillivray, Elima, M. Field, Kirk, Feather.

Sharp keeps Giants focused

Huddersfield Giants coach Jon Sharp claims his team are keeping their feet firmly on the ground following their stunning win at Wigan as they prepare to face Widnes Vikings.

The Giants go to relegation-threatened Widnes with complacency a real danger after securing a first league double over Wigan for 63 years.

But Sharp insists his players are not getting carried away, saying: ?The win at Wigan has been forgotten. All that matters now is Widnes.

?The key after securing such a magnificent win is to remain level-headed and keep your feet firmly on the ground.

?It was fantastic to be associated with such an historic victory but this week it?s been business as usual.?

Huddersfield have the chance to complete a second double of the season following their 34-18 win over the Vikings at the Galpharm Stadium in March.

But Frank Endacott?s men have been much improved in recent weeks and they will give a third ?debut? to Australian veteran Julian O?Neill, who has joined them from Wakefield.

The 32-year-old O?Neill, who missed only three matches for Widnes last season, has been cleared to play despite not being named in their initial 20-man squad because the club kept the League fully informed of their intentions.

?We know that Widnes are a far better side than their current League position suggests and we can?t afford to lose sight of that fact,? added Sharp.

?Their big win at Wakefield and then their unlucky defeat to St Helens show Widnes are improving all the time.?

Widnes 18-man squad: Connolly, Emelio, Craigie, Myler, O'Connor, Millard, J. O'Neill, Cassidy, Stankevitch, Finnigan, Hulse, Frame, Mills, Fa-alogo, Smith, Holmes, Viane, J. O'Neill.

Huddersfield 18-man squad: O'Hare, De Vere, Donlan, Thorman, March, Drew, Gannon, Nero, Roarty, Gene, Jones, Smith, Crabtree, Grayshon, White, Jackson, Clayton, St Hilaire.

Broncos boss issues rally call

Bottom club Leigh Centurions aim to complete the double over London Broncos at Griffin Park following their 24-22 win at the Coliseum on Easter Monday.

The match will be the Broncos? last at Brentford before hitting the road for seven weeks and coach Tony Rea is hoping for a big send-off.

?Our players love playing before their own people and I know they like to please,? he said. ?I expect the Park to be pumping again.?

London have lost all six away matches, but their 34-18 victory over Salford last Sunday was their fifth win in eight home games.

?The vibe at Griffin Park last Sunday was brilliant,? added Rea. ?You could feel the energy in the place.

?Our hard work last week was rewarded with a win and our supporters thoroughly appreciated the performance. Sunday will be our last game in Brentford for a while and I expect everyone to make the most of it.?

London 18-man squad: Armour, Bradley-Qalilawa, Dorn, Highton, Hopkins, Leuluai, Lolohea, McLinden, Mbu, O'Halloran, Purdham, Stephenson, Sykes, Tookey, Wells, Williams, Haumono, Mateo.

Leigh 18-man squad: Cooper, J. Duffy, Fleary, Jones, Kent, King, Leafa, Maden, Marshall, Rowley, Stapleton, Sturm, Turley, Wilshere, Feaunati, Stevens, Mears, Coleman.
