Warrington Wolves piled on the misery for Tetley's Rugby Super League's basement side Halifax with a 66-6 win at Wilderspool on Sunday, while Bradford Bulls and St Helens came away from testing visits to Castleford and Wakefield and Huddersfield saw off Hull 30-14. Graham Appo was the star of the show as Warrington sent Halifax to their biggest loss this season, scoring four tries and kicking nine goals.
Brent Grose and Darren Burns both touched down twice as the Wolves ran in 12 tries, with only a Chris Birchall try as consolation for Halifax.
Bradford scored four second half tries to take a 40-20 win against Castleford Tigers at The Jungle to increase the heat on Leeds at the head of the table.
They were just two points to the good at half time, before Scott Naylor, Daniel Gartner, Lee Gilmour and Tevita Vaikona crossed to secure the points.
St Helens continued their winning run with a 36-15 win at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats to improve their position inside the top six.
They led 18-15 at half time, but took advantage of the sending off of Michael Korkidas to take the win, with Darren Albert scoring two tries and Sean Long bagging 20 points.
They scored five tries in adding Hull's name to the list of high-profile clubs to be defeated at The McAlpine Stadium this season.
