Farah extends contract with Wests
Tigers

Wests Tigers hooker Robbie Farah has today signed a new three-year deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2010 season.

Off contract at the end of 2007, Farah said he was very pleased with the extension of his current contract.

The 22-year-old was named the Wests Tigers player of the year last Friday.

Farah broke through to the representative ranks this season, playing for City Origin against Country and for the Prime Minister?s XIII team against Papua New Guinea.

?There was plenty of speculation I wanted to leave but I always planned to stay with the Wests Tigers,?? Farah said.

?I am very happy here. The club has been great to me and I have played all of my first grade football under coach Tim Sheens.

?It is a big weight off my shoulders and a good feeling to know that I have my immediate future settled. I?m glad that I am going to be part of what will be an exciting few years ahead for the Wests Tigers.??

Farah has played 54 games for Wests Tigers since making his first grade debut against Manly at Leichhardt Oval on June 8, 2003. He played 20 games for the team in 2006.

Coach Tim Sheens said the re-signing of Farah was a tremendous boost for the club.

?Robbie is a very important part of the team and we see him as a possible future leader,?? Sheens said.

?This is a great cornerstone for the club to build on knowing that we have a player of Robbie?s ability on the roster.??
