Finch rejects
Raiders offer

Brett Finch and the Canberra Raiders have been unable to come to an agreement after the 20 year old halfback rejected the club?s final contract offer today.

Canberra?s inability to attract promising recruits has been put down poor climate and the City?s emphasis on rugby union side, the ACT Brumbies.

Finch will begin negotiations with other clubs after the June 30 anti-tampering deadline.

Finch, the son former St George centre, Robert Finch, is set to be become hot property. Clubs rumoured to be chasing his signature include South Sydney, St George Illawarra, the Sydney Roosters and the Brisbane Broncos. The Broncos and Roosters will have difficulty fitting Finch under the NRL salary cap.

Other free agents include Parramatta hooker Brad Drew, Sydney Roosters second rower Bryan Fletcher, and Brisbane Broncos prop Petero Civoniceva.
