Manly Warringah Sea Eagles 18 def Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks 0
The first trial of the night drew a sizeable crowd at Brookvale Oval. After Cronulla's Toyota Cup side triumphed 20-8 earlier on, it was Manly who got on the front foot in first grade. David Williams crossed the line in his first game of Rugby League since 2009 to open the Sea Eagles' account, while Michael Oldfield also put his name on the scoreboard before the break.
Whilst Cronulla tried and struggled to cross the line, it was only Manly who managed any second half points, with the "Wolfman" bagging his double. Daly Cherry-Evans converted for the final scoreline of 18-0.
Melbourne Storm 34 def Ipswich Jets 0
A two-halved trial for the Storm started off with a team of fresh legs facing an Ipswich team coming off a 22-12 trial loss to the Roosters last weekend. The Jets were ripe for the picking through most of the match, and the result was the Storm running riot. A double for Steven Thorpe and a try to Kiwi youngster and former Warrior Elijah Niko were highlights as the Storm fought their way to a convincing 34-0 victory after 40 minutes of play.
Easts Tigers 10 def Melbourne Storm 0
The first-half rout seemingly took its toll on the Storm as they moved into the second half of proceedings at Langlands Park against another QRL outfit - Easts Tigers. It was Easts who lead 6-0 halfway through and a late try extended this to 10-0. An error and penalty strewn 40 minutes of football.
Wests Tigers 22 lead North Queensland Cowboys 10
As we enter the second half at Jack Manski Oval, Townsville, the Wests Tigers are leading two tries to nil. Sean Meaney capitalised on a Shannon Gallant in-goal knock on to open the scoring, with Jake Clarke adding to the tally in the second half.
The match continues in the second half, where two quick Cowboys tries have bought the scores back to 12-10. It was all Tigers from there, scoring twice more to make the final scoreline 22 points to 10.
