Gasnier scare for NSW

Mark Gasnier has thrown a scare into the NSW camp after the Blues five-eighth was rushed to hospital this afternoon for x-rays on a hand injury.

Gasnier injured his hand while playing for St George Illawarra in Saturday night's win over North Queensland in Wollongong. After arriving for the Blues camp NSW medical officials took the Dragons three-quarter for precautionary scans.

It is not yet clear whether Gasnier is in any danger of missing Wednesday week's deciding State of Origin clash against Queensland in Melbourne. Gasnier was today selected out of position at five-eighth, where he will form a new scrumbase combination with Penrith halfback Craig Gower.
