Gillette to sponsor both Great Britain and England Rugby League teams One of the world?s biggest consumer products companies, Gillette, will sponsor the Great Britain Rugby League team for 2005 and 2006.

And they will provide support for the England Rugby League team for 2005.

It will be the third year of Gillette?s involvement with the Great Britain team. They began as associate sponsors in 2003 when the Gillette logo appeared on the shoulders of the team that faced Australia in a three-match Test series.

In 2005, as last year, the Gillette logo will again feature on the front chest of the jersey worn by the players in this autumn?s Gillette Tri-Nations tournament when the Lions face both Australia and New Zealand. At the same time Gillette?s M3Power brand logo will be featured across the shoulders of the Great Britain jersey.

Gillette will be sponsoring the England team for the first time.

England will play France on the weekend of October 22-23 and New Zealand on the weekend of November 5-6. Final details about the venues and match days will be confirmed later.

Richard Lewis, the Rugby Football League?s Executive Chairman, said: ?Gillette have once again demonstrated their faith in Rugby League by renewing their support of the Great Britain team as well as extending their interest to include the England team.

?Today?s announcement is a significant commitment to Rugby League and we will be working hard to justify their faith in our sport.

?They are backing a Great Britain team that will be seeking to build on their performance in the 2004 tournament bolstered by an enhanced preparation programme and an England team that will contain some of this country?s top young players.?

Gillette?s Customer Development Director Tony Colquitt said: ?I am delighted to confirm Gillette's continuing sponsorship of Great Britain Rugby League for 2005 and 2006, following on from last year's highly successful first season.

We recently confirmed that we would be sponsoring the Tri-Nations tournament for a second year, and today's double announcement further illustrates our increasing commitment to Rugby League, which includes being an event partner for both the Super League Grand Final and the World Club Challenge.
