Head to Hull

St George Illawarra halfback Mathew Head is set to play out the rest of the season in England for Hull.

Hull coach Peter Sharp says Head will arrive in England on Thursday (AEST) and is in calculations for their Super League clash at home to Salford on Monday. It was initially believed Head was simply on loan at Hull and would return to St George Illawarra next year.

However, Hull chief executive James Rule has hinted Head's move could extend into 2008 and beyond. After overcoming another knee operation, Head faced tough competition at Dragons with the arrival of Jamie Soward and was also battling a shoulder complaint.

It is yet another Australian big name signing for Hull. They have snapped up Brisbane utility Shaun Berrigan and Sharks half Adam Dykes for next season and are in the mix to sign Broncos prop Petero Civoniceva.
