Indigenous v Maori match report

A first half double to Biloela centre Lynden Law set the stage as Australian Indigenous Under 16 pipped their New Zealand Maori counterparts 24-18 at Suncorp Stadium.

While the Indigenous stars led from start to finish, an errant pass and a missed penalty kick were realistically the only things keeping the Maoris from victory.

To heighten the drama, play continued three minutes after fulltime, with a dangerous tackle on the hooter resulting in a 42m attempt at goal by the ambitious Tyrone Roberts.

Hearts were in mouths when Roberts missed to the left, New Zealand gained possession, received a penalty of their own and then broke away down the touchline.

Yet thankfully for Australia they were able to produce one last tackle, stopping the visitors from stealing a draw.
