INGHAM STUDENTS SIGN UP
Indigenous students from Ingham State High School today became the latest group to sign up for the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys' innovative Learn Earn Legend! program.
Funded by the Australian Government, and run in conjunction with the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), the program aims to provide Indigenous students enrolled in 12 participating North Queensland schools with the support they need to complete their secondary education and move into further study, training or employment.
Cowboys co-captain and program ambassador Johnathan Thurston welcomed the Ingham students to Learn Earn Legend! at the Cowboys' headquarters at Dairy Farmers Stadium.
The Cowboys' playing staff are an integral part of the program, with their involvement including acting as positive role models, working with students to ensure continued engagement and provide mentoring and support, speaking with students about their own career pathways after their professional football journey, and outlining their personal aspirations and role models who influence their life choices.
