Melbourne Storm young gun Greg Inglis has succumbed to an ankle injury and has been withdrawn from the Junior Kangaroos squad to take on Papua New Guinea and New Zealand A in October.
However, Melbourne?s rugby league future looks bright with Storm halfbacks James Aubusson and Colin Wilkie, backman Ryan Shortland and forward Scott Anderson all included in the Australian squad for the upcoming series.
Melbourne Storm football operations manager Peter O'Sullivan is not surprised Aubusson has been selected for the Junior Kangaroos.
"He is an incredibly tenacious character," O'Sullivan said.
"He has a great deal of self belief to the fact he will become an NRL player.?
The selection of five Storm players in the initial Junior Kangaroos squad is a clear indication of a bright Storm future according to O?Sullivan.
"These players selected for the Junior Kangaroos are consistent high performers in the NRL when they break into first-grade,? said O?Sullivan.
The Junior Kangaroos are due to play matches against Papua New Guinea in Darwin on Saturday, October 8th, and against New Zealand A at Telstra Stadium on Saturday, October 15th.
