Johns escapes charge but Senter and
Beattie not so lucky

New South Wales captain Andrew Johns is breathing a sigh of relief after being omitted from the National Rugby League's judiciary charge sheet today.

There were fears the Knights halfback might miss lifting the Origin trophy in Brisbane after he was penalised for a high tackle on fullback Brett Hodgson in Newcastle yesterday. NRL judiciary commissioner Jim Hall has deemed the matter not severe enough to warrant a charge but Wests Tigers skipper Darren Senter and Cronulla prop Chris Beattie aren't so lucky.

Unless hooker Senter successfully fights a grade one dangerous throw charge, he'll miss the Tigers' next two matches against Cronulla and Canberra.

The Sharks plan to make an early guilty plea on behalf of prop Beattie, who's been charged with a grade one careless high tackle.
