Jones extends Catalans contract

Les Catalans Dragons have secured the services of Stacey Jones for another season.

The former Warriors halfback has signed a one year extension to his contract with the French Super League club.

His current deal was due to run out at the conclusion of this 2007 season.

Jones says he feels he has unfinished business with the Dragons, after being plagued by injury during his stint on the Mediterranean coast.

He says also feels he owes it to the fans and adds that he is very happy to be back in Catalan colours in 2008, in what he says will be a crucial season for the French club.

The 30-year-old Aucklander says his wife and children also love the lifestyle in France, otherwise he would not have agreed to stay on.

It will be his third year in the Superleague, and will add fuel to the fire that he may yet be coaxed out of international retirement to appear for the Kiwis in their northern hemisphere tests later this year.
