Jones offered life contract

Stacey Jones will be a Warrior for the rest of his career. Jones and Warriors general manager Mick Watson are in negotiations that Watson is hopeful will keep the star halfback in New Zealand until he retires.

"We intend to see that he will never go to the market," Watson said.

"In my opinion he will retire with the Warriors as the greatest league player New Zealand's ever had."

Meanwhile, the Warriors have re-signed PJ Marsh - who starred in the side's 34-12 win over the Newcastle Knights on Friday night - for another three years.

"PJ's helped the Warriors reshape their game," Watson said.

Watson said Marsh, Jones, Ali Lauitiiti and Monty Betham were the backbone of the Warriors.

"We're going to build a team around those guys and we will grow into a very successful side," Watson said.

"Those guys have come on board long-term. We are going to continue to give them good players so that we can go forward and win the competition."

Watson hinted that Marsh may stay at hooker.
