charges

Melbourne fullback Billy Slater is facing his third suspension of the season while Newcastle captain Andrew Johns has also been charged by the match review committee.

Slater has been charged with striking in the Storm's win over Wests Tigers on Saturday and will miss two games whether he enters an early plea or decides to fight the charge and is found guilty. He has already missed nine games through two previous suspensions this season.

Johns has been charged with striking opposite number Josh Lewis in the Knights' win over the Sydney Roosters yesterday but can escape a suspension ban with an early guilty plea.

Tigers five-eighth Shane Elford, the Storm's Brett White and South Sydney's Peter Cusack have also been charged but will escape bans with early guilty pleas.
