Parramatta forward Fuifui Moimoi has escaped punishment after pleading not guilty to biting Storm prop Brett White. Moimoi, who has a chequered past at the judiciary, was exonerated after the allegation could not be proven.

The surprise ruling came despite video replays of the incident highlighting White pulling up his Storm jersey to reveal what appeared to be a cut on his upper left bicep.

Under cross-examination, Parramatta's defence counsel Mark Webber successfully challenged White about an arm guard he was wearing around his bicep at the time of the biting allegation.

Five different video angles screened also failed to definitively confirm Moimoi had bitten White, with the Parramatta forward maintaining his innocence when quizzed by NRL judiciary commissioner Greg Woods.

Earlier, South Sydney centre Adam MacDougall was suspended for four weeks after pleading guilty to a grade four striking charge on rookie Brisbane flyer Darrius Boyd.

And Canberra winger David Howell was rubbed out for one week for a grade one dangerous throw.
