Kennedy in trouble for high shot

NSW's State of Origin triumph over Queensland has been soured with Ben Kennedy being charged with a grade one reckless high tackle on Maroons prop Steve Price.

Kennedy faces up to a four-match suspension after his Newcastle club sought a deferral at a hastily convened hearing following the Blues' series-winning 27-4 victory over Queensland.

The Knights have until 2pm tomorrow to answer the charge, with Kennedy to be sidelined for three games if he enters an early guilty plea or four matches if he unsuccessfully contests the charge. The rampaging forward also finished the night with a neck injury.
