Klemmer remains a Bulldog til 2016

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are pleased to announce the re-signing of front row forward David Klemmer for a further three years, through until the end of 2016.

Klemmer is a player that has come through the junior development system at the Bulldogs, playing both SG Ball and in the National Youth Competition (NYC) with the Club.

The 19-year-old had an outstanding season in 2012 playing 23 games as part of the NYC side and finished the year by being named in the NYC ‘Team of the Year’ and being named the NYC ‘Player of the Year’ at the prestigious Dally M Awards night in September.

The All Saints, Toongabbie junior is still eligible to play in the Holden Cup this season but has spent the pre-season as part of the NRL full-time squad which Klemmer believes has helped his development.

“I’ve been at the Club for a number of years now and I couldn’t see myself anywhere else in this next period of my career,” Klemmer said.

“I’ve learnt so much and I enjoy every day that I come here, I’ll keep working hard and learning from Des and the other players here and hopefully I will get my chance at some stage to play NRL.”

Coach Des Hasler is excited about being able to retain the young forward.

“We’re excited to have re-signed David for the next three years.

“He has been a part of the junior development system for a number of years. At just 19, he is an exciting prospect and will provide great depth for the Bulldogs moving forward.”
