Knights to play Warriors in Greymouth Charity Match

The Coal & Allied Newcastle Knights and Vodafone Warriors joined forces with the NRL to announce they will play a charity match at Wingham Park in Greymouth New Zealand on Saturday 5 February 2011.

This initiative was designed to help raise funds and boost the spirit of the West Coast region affected by the tragic loss of 29 men in last month's Pike River mining disaster.

The three NRL identities have joined forces with the New Zealand Rugby League in a unique partnership which will see all funds from the match and associated activities distributed to the Pike River mining relief fund and to the West Coast Rugby League.

Newcastle Knights Chief Executive Officer Steve Burraston said the Knights were happy to accept the invitation from the NRL and the Warriors for this worthwhile cause.
