This weeks team was hard to pick, with so many clubs struggling after origin picking the standouts wasn?t easy. Scraping into the fullback spot is Raiders custodian Clinton Schifcofske after a strong display against the Storm. Joining him at the back are wingers John Hopoate from the Eagles and John Carlaw from the Warriors. Hopoate made 26 hit ups against the Storm and scored 2 tries. Carlaw a centre played his guts out against the Broncos and forced his way into the backline. In the centre are mark Hughes from the Knights and Willie Talau from the Bulldogs. Both players playing a major roll in their clubs victories over the weekend. The halves selection sees team of the week regulars Brent Sherwin from the Bulldogs and Roosters captain Brad Fittler join forces to make a deadly combination.
The forward pack is strong, with Dragons hardman Jason Ryles and Bulldogs ironman Steve Price destroying their oppositions to earn their spots. Hooking the scrum is Dragons class clown Mark Riddell, who earned cheers from the crowd and laughter from the couch potatoes as he leapt the fence to sit in the crowd and applaud his own try. The backrow sees round 16 combatants join forces in Warrior Awen Guttenbeil and Broncos rampaging bull Groden Tallis. They are joined by the Tigers underrated captain Darren Senter.
Coaching the team is Warriors coach Daniel Anderson, who master minded a tired Broncos downfall with a perfect game plan.
