A Development Application (DA) has been lodged with Kogarah Council for the installation of permanent lighting at Kogarah's Oki Jubilee Stadium. The lighting upgrade is fully funded as $8 million was allocated to Oki Jubilee Stadium following the re-election of the Coalition Government. The installation of permanent lighting will prove beneficial for the sporting and community events that are currently staged at the site and will ensure that Oki Jubilee Stadium remains competitive with other sporting venues going forward.
Oki Jubilee Stadium will become a true multi-purpose facility and the St.George District's premier sporting location. Consequently the profile of the Kogarah Municipality will be significantly increased, which will have a positive impact on local businesses and ratepayers. The improvements to the venue will entrench the Dragons and Sydney Olympic in Kogarah and will provide the Municipality's youth with a focal point for their sporting aspirations.
