Lions victories come to an end

After two wins on end the Vodafone Auckland Lions slumped to a jarring 10-46 loss to the North Sydney Bears in their New South Wales Premier League clash at a wet North Sydney Oval on Saturday.

The Auckland side went into the match lying third on the competition ladder after back-to-back wins against Manly and St George Illawarra followed by last weekend's bye.

Coming into the line-up were former Kiwis Jerome Ropati and Louis Anderson as well as Vodafone Warriors fullback Aidan Kirk, who moved to Auckland in the off-season after three years playing premier league football for the Sydney Roosters' feeder club Newtown.

Ropati had his first outing of the year in the Bartercard Cup last weekend while Saturday
