Lockyer likely starter against
French

Australian captain Darren Lockyer is expected to make his return from injury in Sunday's clash against France. Lockyer has not played since injuring his ribs in the game against New Zealand three weeks ago but has returned to training without problem.

However half-back Craig Gower is likely to miss the Tri-Nations final against Great Britain due to a groin problem.

Gower missed the defeat by Britain last weekend and is now unlikely to make the game against France.

Although officials are confident that the player will be fit for the final, Gower has previously said he was likely to rule himself out of the contest if he did not make the France game.

Jason Ryles is expected to be in the squad to take on France after recovering from a hamstring injury.
