Lomu to meet with Titans tomorrow

All Blacks legend Jonah Lomu will meet with Gold Coast Titans management tomorrow to discuss joining the club on a one-year deal.

The club's medical staff must pass fit the 31-year-old Lomu before he enters into serious contract negotiations with the Titans. Gold Coast chief executive Michael Searle says he's confident Lomu can become one of the few players to earn dual international status, despite his medical problems.

A debilitating kidney disease threatened to end Lomu's career after the 1999 World Cup but he returned to rugby following a kidney transplant in 2004. Searle has heard reports the 125kg Lomu is close to peak fitness and can run 100 metres in under 12 seconds.

Lomu played the last of his 73 internationals for New Zealand in 2002.
