Manly the
favourite to sign Walker

Manly chief executive Ian Thomson will give Chris Walker 48 hours to "get his head together" before assessing whether the NRL club wants to sign the troubled centre.

The Sea Eagles are firming as favourites to snare Walker, with fellow NRL clubs Sydney Roosters having little room to manoeuvre under the salary cap and the Bulldogs more intent on retaining their existing players.

The NSW Waratahs have also backed away from speculation that Walker is ready to convert to rugby union.
