McGuiness joins Manly

Controversial Wests Tigers centre, Kevin McGuiness, has abandoned the club and signed with arch rivals, Manly, for the next three seasons. For Manly, the signing of McGuiness continues an impressive buildup that includes the signing of Scott Donald and the likely signing of Ivan Cleary, originally a Manly junior.

The loss of McGuiness will free up some much needed funds under the salary cap as the embattled Tigers struggle to find a first grade coach after Craig Bellamy pulled out of the running due to the players wanting a say on who was selected to coach the side over the coming seasons.

For a merged club, they are really struglling to find their feet in the NRL and the release of Terry Hill would also be a step in the right direction as the money saved could be used to be at least two to three quality first grade players.

The club are looking likely candidates for the wooden spoon next year.
