McGuire gets a crack at Ikin's
job

The Broncos host the Panthers in the NRL tonight and Casey McGuire has the perfect opportunity to claim the Brisbane No.6 jumper for next season.

Retirement-bound Ben Ikin is out with a thigh injury and McGuire replaces him at five-eighth. Origin utility Tonie Carroll returns from a hamstring injury in the centres but skipper Gorden Tallis and fullback Darren Lockyer are still out.

Penrith has the NRL's best away record (8-2) and before recent back-to-back losses had won 14 of 15 games.
